Cracked feet can be really painful and embarrassing. Olive oil can be actually very helpful as a skin moisturiser. It softens and smoothens your skin if used regularly. See how it can be used a home remedy to treat your cracked heels especially in winters.
What kind of oil to use?
For best results you should go for extra virgin olive oil because that will be the most helpful in restoring moisture into our heels.
How to use?
Firstly you should soak your feet in warm water.
Then using a pumice stone, file away the dead skin cells from your heels
Now pat your feet dry using a towel.
Apply the olive oil on the heels gently in circulation motions. Make sure that you are using the oil generously so that your skin can completely absorb it.
Now slip your feet into a pair of clean socks. Make sure that the oil stays on the heels. You have to now sleep with your socks on.
You can remove the socks next morning to find beautifully softened heels.
For how long to continue?
This is a very effective way of keeping your feet soft and clean. So it would be better that you keep doing it for the whole winter season at least.
